The problem

The challenge.

Offline casual simulation is a long-haul genre — the client wanted steady sessions per day, not a spike on launch week.

Progression had to feel generous without collapsing into one-button tapping, which kills retention after week two.

Rewarded ads had to be genuinely optional — never a required gate — while still contributing to revenue.

The plan

Our approach.

Designed layered excavation with readable geology zones and rare-item rarity curves tuned across hundreds of test sessions.

Built an offline-first economy in Unity with local SQLite persistence, so the game works on a plane or in poor coverage.

Integrated rewarded-ad bonuses that enhance but never unlock — testers reported the ads as 'nice' rather than 'pushy'.

Added tool and storage progression tuned so a returning player always sees a meaningful new milestone in under 10 minutes.
