1. The short version
- We don't set any analytics or tracking cookies until you accept on the cookie banner.
- The only analytics we use is Google Analytics (via Firebase), to count visits and understand which pages are useful. It loads only after consent.
- We use no advertising cookies — no Meta pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, no Google Ads conversion tracking, no cross-site profiling.
- You can accept or decline, and change your mind any time by clearing the choice in your browser.
3. What we use
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you'll allow analytics. Before you choose, no analytics cookies are set. We record your choice itself in your browser's local storage (not a cookie sent to us) so we don't keep asking.
If you accept, we load Google Analytics through Firebase, which sets a small number of first-party analytics cookies to measure visits. If you decline, analytics never loads and those cookies are never set.
4. The categories in detail
Strictly necessary — your consent choice. When you accept or decline, we store that decision under the key enigmatix-cookie-consentin your browser's local storage. It holds only the word "accepted" or "declined", stays on your device, and is never transmitted to us. It exists so we can honour your choice and stop showing the banner. This requires no consent because the site can't function correctly without remembering it.
Analytics — Google Analytics via Firebase. Loaded only after you accept. It sets first-party cookies (typically named _ga and _ga_<id>) to distinguish visitors and sessions and to count page views. We use this in aggregate to see which content helps and where the site can improve. As set out in our Privacy Policy, we don't collect your IP address, location, browser fingerprint, or any directly identifying information through analytics.
5. Your consent and choices
You're in control of analytics cookies:
- At the banner: choose Accept or Decline. Decline keeps analytics off entirely.
- To change your mind:clear this site's storage in your browser (site settings → clear data, or remove the
enigmatix-cookie-consententry). The banner reappears and you can choose again. - In your browser:most browsers let you block or delete cookies and local storage for any site, and can warn you before a cookie is set. Blocking them won't break this site.
6. Third parties
Our analytics is provided by Google(Firebase / Google Analytics). When it's loaded after your consent, Google processes the resulting data under its own terms. You can read how Google uses data on its privacy policy. Other third parties we rely on (such as our hosting and email providers) are listed as sub-processors in our Privacy Policy.
7. No advertising or cross-site tracking
We don't run advertising on this site and we don't use advertising or social-media tracking cookies. There is no Meta pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, no Google Ads or remarketing tag, and no third-party profiling of your activity across other websites. We honour browser "Do Not Track" signals by simply not running analytics unless you've opted in.
8. Changes to this policy
If we change the cookies or technologies we use, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date above. If we ever add a new category that needs consent, we'll ask before setting it.
