Reelvault: video storage for people who shoot more than they can store.
A mobile video vault built with React Native and Django REST Framework, for users whose footage has outgrown local disks. It handles the unglamorous parts of video storage properly — large uploads over imperfect mobile connections, a library that stays navigable as it grows, and playback that starts quickly regardless of file size.

The problem
The challenge.
Video is heavy, and the people generating the most of it are the least likely to be on a stable connection when they upload.
An upload that fails at ninety percent and restarts from zero is the fastest way to lose a user, so resumability was a requirement rather than a refinement.
A media library becomes unusable through growth alone: at a few hundred items, browsing stops working as a way to find anything.
Storage and delivery costs scale with the library, so a naive approach makes the product more expensive to run precisely as it succeeds.
The plan
Our approach.
01Built the client in React Native so capture, upload, browsing and playback share one codebase across platforms.
02Made uploads chunked and resumable, so an interrupted transfer continues from where it stopped rather than starting again — the single most important behaviour in a mobile video product.
03Modelled the library around metadata in Django REST Framework rather than filenames and folders, so content stays findable once browsing stops being viable.
04Separated the metadata path from the media path: the API stays fast because it never handles the heavy bytes, which keeps browsing responsive no matter what is uploading.
05Tuned storage tiering and delivery so infrequently-accessed footage costs less to keep than recent material, letting the library grow without the running cost tracking it linearly.
The result
The outcome.
Uploads survive the connection dropping, which is the normal case on mobile rather than the exception.
The library stays navigable past the point where scrolling stops being a viable way to find content.
Browsing and playback stay responsive during uploads, because the two paths do not contend.
Running costs grow more slowly than the stored volume.

We are a mental health charity and not tech-minded. We needed to improve our patient registration system but wanted a company that we can relate to. Hassan took the time to meet with me and patiently went through our process to find a personalised solution for us. Hassan's team did a great job streamlining our process and connected our registration system to our patient management software. Whenever we have a glitch, they resolve this quickly. Enigmatix Global provides a personal and efficient service and we have adopted them to be our IT provider.

I am writing to wholeheartedly recommend Enigmatix Global as a premier bespoke software development agency. Our journey with them has been nothing short of exemplary, far exceeding our initial expectations. While many agencies can develop based on strict specifications, Enigmatix Global demonstrated an incredible commitment to our project that was truly unparalleled.

Dragonfly has been working with the team at Enigmatix Global for several years now on building out our web-based platform and APIs. One of their strengths is quickly building out a multi-disciplinary team to work on the development and delivery of features with different technical requirements. Their support has allowed us to accelerate our development work without building an internal team. They have also worked seamlessly with other third parties both during the acquisition of Dragonfly and development of our mobile app. Enigmatix Global has been instrumental in bringing our ideas to life and providing guidance to help us make the best technical decisions. I would recommend getting in touch with them if you're looking for support.

Hassan and the Enigmatix Global team have been indispensable partners as we rebuilt our client-facing applications into a single platform. As well as being exceptional technically, they consistently invest the time to understand the product and suggest how it can be enhanced and improved.

Enigmatix Global did some great work for Sainsbury's, bridging complex interactions between some older less flexible systems, some rigid vendor solutions and the new systems we were building. The software Enigmatix Global developers wrote stood up well, long beyond the interim scope of it needing to work for 12 to 18 months, and was still in active use 5 years after its creation, since it was part of mission-critical systems.

Frequently asked
Common questions, answered.
Yes. We provide software development, dedicated engineering teams, offshore development centres and staff augmentation for UK and US businesses. Our head office is in Rochdale, UK. US delivery is remote; we agree working-hour overlap and delivery responsibilities during discovery. Our US service-area pages describe the markets we serve, not US office locations.
We've been building software since 2008. Eighteen years of delivery across finance, healthcare, retail, logistics, energy, the public sector, and beyond. We're a consultancy, not a body-shop, and we've kept the same engineering discipline across every engagement shape.
Our head office is in Rochdale, United Kingdom — that is where contracts, commercial, and programme governance sit. Around it: Riyadh and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, Manama in Bahrain, and engineering and operations centres in Lahore and Bahawalpur, Pakistan. Delivery is global, with teams shaped around your time zone and regulatory footprint, not ours.
We offer three engagement models. (1) Dedicated engineering teams: a cross-functional pod working long-running on your product, staffed in 72 hours. (2) Offshore development centre: a branded engineering function inside your company, operational in four weeks. (3) Staff augmentation: vetted senior engineers embedded in your existing team, on the keyboard within 72 hours.
Every sector we serve, including financial services, healthcare, retail, logistics, telecom, energy, public sector, education, manufacturing, real estate, travel, legal, and HR. The engineering discipline transfers across all of them. Regulatory and domain knowledge is what we specialise in per sector.
Polyglot by design. Go, Python, TypeScript, Java, Kotlin, C#, Rust, Swift on the application side. AWS, GCP, Azure on infrastructure. Postgres, Snowflake, Kafka, and the full AI/ML toolchain. We pick the stack to fit your problem and existing estate, not a vendor relationship on our side.
Send us a message through the contact form or book a 30-minute call. We reply within one working day with a real person, not a drip campaign. First call is discovery. Your problem, our fit, and whether we're the right partner. No sales pressure, no filler decks.
